Capital Lumber is clearly a commercial/large contractor/builder only lumberyard and if you are a builder they probably are a highly rated supplier. However, I am an advanced DIY woodworker. My primary hobby is building furniture, kids’ toys and gadgets, which I do nearly full time. I have found that the big box stores do not carry the variety of lumber or types of wood I need, so I have begun a systematic exploration of lumber companies in the Phoenix area. Capital Lumber looks like a very complete lumber yard for large scale contractors and/or builders, but clearly is not equipped for small retail customers like me. It would be zero-stars for me and I would normally not rate it, because it is clearly not meant for customers like me, but I believe I might save some of my fellow DIY woodworkers some time and expense they might otherwise spend visiting Capital Lumber.
