It is very bad cannot reach out to the headquarter of Citizens Bank. We the people have trouble with the branch office.

 by Brenda Martin

Our area is closing Citizens branches. It is difficult to actually speak to a REAL person. I choose face to face dealings where accountability is possible. I was told today by a branch individual at our local Citizens that the new “bank model” was virtual assistants. My family will not use these. Since a local branch closed, the remaining branch has lines of five to six people with only one teller. Today, an individual approached me while I was, once again, waiting in line. He asked me how he could help. I explained my purpose of this visit. He tried to encourage me to use the hole in the wall known as a “virtual assistant”. I refused. He then told me that I could expect the long lines if I chose to speak to a real person. My son has already left Citizens due to this issue and the remainder of my family will be following suit. My so is only 21. Personal service could be, and should be, still available without issue.

This bank is trying to swindle me out of $3,200 for a line of credit I did not apply for. Very crooked.

This is a horrible bank. My account was grandfathered from when HSBC sold it's East Cost operations. It's almost impossible to close an account at Citizens bank.

I am heart broken with this branch. I have been their client for years and years. I moved out of state and to continue to do business with them I travel almost 4 hours to go to my nearest branch when necessary. I was scammed out of $1000, a moving company with contract. I reported it to my bank spoke to the branch manager and she saw all my papers and messages proving I was correct. The one man from the moving company arrived at my house and wanted to almost double the amount of my contract that I had paid $1000 of deposit. Everything was by item, boxed by size and amount, furniture peace by peace named in the contract. His words were”you don’t shop at ikea” they arrived at 8 pm to do a whole house move. Anyway when I didn’t accept the new amount he said well ok good night, thanks for the deposit. I got my 1k and thought this was solved, apparently they waited a few months to appeal or request this money again and citizens bank took it out of my account. I fought it and they now don’t even care. Is 1k for many of yous is nothing, but for a single mom just this move was devastating. Right now I am in need of much less than that, but just the “who gives a care” that these ppl whom I been so faithful too treated me , just Wao. I am going to write emails and leave reviews until I find someone who does give a care, because this is unjust. How some ppl can ruin an image of a business reputation.

Citizen bank is holding funds on a check from geico insurance. Their reason is because they can’t verify the check is good. They said I have to wait another day.

yesterday i wrote a check for $175.00 to someone who worked on my driveway. on the check, was written my driver's license number along with my phone number. this morning, he went to a citizens bank on waterloo road, akron, ohio, to cash it. they would not cash it. they would not call me, even though the phone number was written on my check. the driveway guy called me, from the bank, and asked them to speak to me, which they refused. so, early this morning, i ran to your office on w market street in fairlawn, ohio, to take out the cash; then ran across town to meet the driveway guy, who is a struggling hard worker, as he showed up yesterday (sunday) to work - at a discount, because i'm a repeat customer and he's lost work because of all the rain; i felt so frustrated with the situation. and glad i did it. it makes no sense that the bank couldn't check my account number on the check, or call me, or talk with me on his phone.

here's the thing. have been a customer for several years with both a money market account and my checking account.

one time when i went into the fairlawn, ohio bank, a girl told me i should take out a home equity on my house. what for? i can't even remember what she said it was so ridiculous. several times, an 'investment' guy (who wasn't even a full time employee) called me to come in and go over things....well, i wasn't interested and didn't trust him anyway.

the only citizens bank that is a no hassle bank, is a small office in wadsworth ohio. they are friendly, efficient and helpful, and after two times, they know me -- don't ask for my driver's license -- it's a pleasure.

what i plan to do is get out of the money market at citizens, at least...and find a different institution for it. then take half of my checking account and move it somewhere else.

would close it completely but it would be too much paperwork for me, with social security, pension, insurance, etc.

obviously, i am the wrong color, as well as the driveway guy.
