would give 0 stars if I could. Neither Suntrup, nor Ford care about safety of their customers. I brought a 2008 Ford Fusion SE in, because of a faulty HCU that had a seized dump solenoid, causing brake pedal to lose pressure after ABS activated in late October 2023. It was a known issue under recall 19S54. Brakes barely worked when I brought it in, which they knew from driving it in to be serviced. Instead of replacing the recalled/seized unit, they stated it passed testing, they claimed to have flushed/bled the brake fluid (which looked old to me & a Car-Ex that was servicing same car for another issue a couple weeks later), and they told NHTSA that they completed the recall. They did get the HCU solenoid unstuck, temporarily, but that was apparently only so they could clear the recall without replacement.
A few months later, the next time that ABS was activated, the same solenoid stuck open again within the old HCU they never replaced. I called Suntrup, spoke with John the Service Manager, and told him the situation. He stated that they did what was required for recall, so any additional repair, including the replacement of Ford’s known faulty HCU that proved to be dysfunctional two times, would be at my expense, because they cleared the recall as if it was safe to drive. Ashley & supervisors at Ford corporate took same attitude to deny any responsibility.
If you want a car with many mechanical problems, get a Ford. You will have more problems than you can handle, along with a company & local dealer that won’t stand behind their sub-par product, even if a recall is issued for it. Corporate must have said 20 times during conversations that they care about my safety. Apparently, not enough to replace a recalled, faulty part free of charge after failing to get it properly replaced months prior, and allowing us to continue driving in danger. Potential Ford buyers, beware.
