I have been a customer for 20 years and spent several $1000's of dollars. My most recent purchases were August/Sept 2020 when I purchased a couch/loveset (bought out right $700 from employee) a new fridge and new washer/dryer set whirlpool for both (rent to own and are paid for). I had issues with the washer within the first 8 months. Local office sent a tech to look at it since I had paid for all the extra coverage. The tech insisted nothing was wrong with it at the time even though it randomly would not start and go straight to washing complete without doing anything. This continued periodically for the next 6-8 months until if would not wash at all. Did some research and found that checking the water inlet was #1 issues it gets clogged since the inlet nor the hoses provided have screens to prevent this. Whirlpool price $129 bought OME one from amazon for $24.00. but it in worked great for another 6 months or so. I actually paid this item off early paid the remaining $800 last year. No sooner did I do this the washing machine quite working all together. I've again replaced the water inlet as it was doing the same thing as before however this time it did not correct the issue. This set cost me right at $3000 to purchase and is less than 3 years old. I'm EXTEREMLY unhappy that there "service man" found nothing wrong with it when it clearly was malfunctioning. If I would not have paid off the agreement I would still be paying at this time and would be covered for the faulty equipment. I am now stuck with a all but new machine that doesn't work and according to the tech that rent a center sent when I complained several times, nothing is wrong with it. I was told that high dollar items are backed by rent a center for 10 years but I've not been offered any assistance with it and was told 2 days after I paid it off, there was nothing they could do sense I own it!! REALLY !! At that time it was less than 2 years old!!! I know that rent a center is covered on these types of things and would cost them little to nothing to make this right. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. Washing machine model -WPL5100CEPER Whirlpool Chrome Shadow 4.8 Cu.Ft Top load washer. Now my dryer is throwing a code - but still working. Its just unbelievable that something so expensive is a throw away item in less than a year . Rent a Center should back these high dollar items !! I just want it replaced with working model or repaired!! Please help me!!!
